Alpha · Open-RSC × Cabbage profile
RuneScape Classic,
rebuilt for people who quit in 2004.
Multi-attacker melee. A ten-tier crafting economy. Enchanting in place of Magic and Runecrafting. The 2001 silhouette, the 2026 pacing.

What Brevison is
An emulation of RuneScape Classic — the game Jagex shipped in 2001 and decommissioned in 2018 — re-engineered on top of the open-source Open-RSC framework. Brevison runs the RSC Cabbage profile as its starting point: 30 % faster tick speed, no fatigue, batched skilling. We then push further: dismantling the 1v1 melee lock, restructuring gear into ten craftable tiers plus a Dragon-tier drop chase, and rolling Magic and Runecrafting into a single Enchanting skill that imbues gear at elemental altars.
What it isn't
Brevison is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Jagex Ltd. No copyrighted Jagex assets are redistributed. Nothing in-game is for sale and nothing IRL is being collected. The project exists to keep an end-of-life game world alive and tractable to modify — game preservation through code, not litigation.
Headline changes
-
Multi-attacker melee
Any number of combatants can engage a single target. Items, food, and retreat are no longer tick-locked to combat rounds.
-
10 + 1 tier economy
All craftable gear scales linearly across ten tiers from Tin to Rune. A non-craftable Dragon tier sits above, attainable only from boss drops.
-
Enchanting replaces Magic
No spellbook clicks. Enchanting imbues jewelry, cloth armor slots, and a roster of magical staves at elemental altars — gear-driven combat builds.
-
Advanced NPC AI
Aggressive ASTAR swarm pathing, defensive scaling against multi-attacker swarms, and ranged/magic retaliation when surrounded.
-
30 % faster pulse
Sub-second ticks, batched skilling, no fatigue, and a quality-of-life pass on banking and load-outs.

Joining the alpha
The alpha world runs on a single small VPS — by design. Connect details, the client download, and account-creation rules will appear here once the first build lands. Until then, watch the GitHub repo.
If you spot a bug or have a balance opinion, open an issue against the repo. Saved opinions on the combat triangle are especially welcome.
